Pineau des Charentes is crafted from unfermented grape juice with the addition of Cognac eau-de-vie, a process that resonates with the meticulous production methods of The Balvenie. Inspired by the Balvenie USA brand ambassador Lorne Cousin's experiences in France, Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE embarked on exploring these unique casks, a first for The Balvenie in their exploration of French Oak finishes. The resulting whisky intertwines the smooth, honeyed character of The Balvenie with the subtle, rich flavors akin to cognac, including notes of fruit, oak, and a gentle warmth.
