Description

Saltram 1859 Shiraz is a premium red wine made from 100% Shiraz grapes grown in the prestigious Barossa Valley wine region in South Australia. The grapes are handpicked and sorted before undergoing a 7-10 day fermentation process, after which the wine is aged for up to 18 months in a combination of new and used French and American oak barrels.

This wine is deep red in color and has aromas of blackberry, plum, and vanilla, with a hint of pepper and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and oak. The tannins are firm yet silky, and the wine has a long, smooth finish.

Saltram is known for producing premium wines that showcase the unique character of the Barossa Valley. Established in 1859, the winery is considered one of the pioneers of the region and is now part of the Treasury Wine Estates portfolio. Saltram 1859 Shiraz is a complex and powerful wine that pairs well with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled steak, roasted lamb, or hearty stews, and can be cellared for up to 10-15 years, during which time it will develop more complex and nuanced flavors.
