Description
Mezcal Union Uno is a premium mezcal produced in Oaxaca, Mexico, using traditional methods that have been passed down through generations of mezcaleros. This mezcal is made from a blend of two different agave varieties, Espadin and Cirial, which are roasted in an underground pit oven for several days to develop their rich, smoky flavor.
After roasting, the agave hearts are crushed using a horse-drawn tahona, then fermented with wild yeast in wooden vats for several days. Finally, the fermented agave juice is double distilled in copper stills to create a smooth, complex spirit with notes of smoke, earth, and citrus.
Mezcal Union Uno is a versatile spirit that can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a variety of cocktails. Its smoky flavor pairs particularly well with citrus and spicy ingredients, making it a popular choice for mezcal-based margaritas and other cocktails.
